Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. The singer combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B in a distinct mix. Avery Sunshine's work has led her from Broadway to European festivals and clubs to even her participation in the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine has the name Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta but she is from Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing as well as playing the piano at church. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical education began in the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The single which featured her vocals Stalk You a House 12 was released only in Japan. The song has been remixed many times, and is the mainstay of her live show. Her voice has also been a part of voice to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005 she took on the role of the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 about serving as the director of chorus for Dreamgirls which was a stage production of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine became the focus of notice during the four performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.

Cooper was raised living in Newtown Pennsylvania, with her siblings and two brothers. Pennington High School is where she went to school.
