Nancy Wilson is a Grammy Award winning jazz singer. Her birth date was 20th February 1937 in Chillicothe Ohio, to Olden Wilson, who was employed at the ironworks as well as Lillian Ryan, a former domestic employee. Nancy was the eldest out of six kids. The father of Nancy was a musician and would play records at home. It had a huge influence on her as a child. Cannonball addederley advised her to relocate to New York for her career and, in 1959, she relocated in The Big Town. Her agent heard her speak in The Blue Morocco Night Club, Boston Road, The Bronx and she then signed her contract. Within a month of her arrival at New York City. The agent he was working with signed her up to Capitol in 1960. She made her debut that year. Guess Who? Her albums were a hit and Capitol issued five Nancy Wilson albums in two years. In the era of Adderley, Wilson began concentrating on R&B but soon shifted towards torch and jazz. Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley collaborated in 1962, which allowed her to climb on the charts.
